Sled: Polaris

hey guys, i have a 2003 edge 700 with 3000 miles.  So far I have 10-64 weights, almond-red primary, stock secondary spring and helix, 24/41 gearing and 420 mains.  I live in Canada at sea level.  I am very impressed with this sled for a 700 and it is pretty fast for being stock.  It will run 115-117 on the dreamameter on perfect conditions and runs 101 on the gun on hard packed snow.  I have a buddy that has a rx1 with some airbox and clutching mods done, he is even with me on the lake most of the time, however as soon as we are on perfect ice or road conditions, he pulls away big time on me.  I am looking for a few bolt on goodies to try and even out the race. 

I was thinking about an slp pipe and/or a rkt head.  Any suggestions.  How fast should a good running 700 polaris run on the speedo or gun.

I have the same snowmobile 03 700 i have the same stuff done as you and im only 135 lbs and mine does 116.6 that is awsome for a twin . you should take that rx1 out of the hole but ya he should catch you top end.       lower does help with that sled

116.6, is that on the dreamameter or gps/radar gun?

116 is awful fast. Are you sure?

116.6 on a rader gun one of the good guns and i  want mine faster because my 2000 600 polaris does 114 on rader

I would have to see the radar gun for that speed? The rx1 will have no problem out of hole beating the 700 polaris.I waited for all the boys to set there's up and then I played with mine. When there done playing again I'll find a little more.To stop all the I'm faster-your faster,lets race for 5 miles  lol

Yah right the rx1will win out of the hole...thats why they race in the 600 class and don't dominate.

The 600 may pull the rx1 in the first 300-400  feet then its all over!!

i have a 2003 700 edge my buddy just bought a 2006 attack yammi today out on the river we also have a radar gun my 700 will run 111 and the attack will run 115 on the gun  but if we drag from stop 700 will win up to 105 and then the yammi has a little more than mine 700 is stock and the yammi has a clutch kit in it but he also has 136 track and ihave 121 track  if your running 116 i would have to see it that really seams awfully fast for a 700 mine seems to run really good at 111 if your looking for more speed you might want to try slp power domes with slp pipe they seam to have worked really well on my freinds 800 he gained about 5 miles an hour on the top with this set up .

Now now edge 600 you did not say that you are are studded and I"am not and I was also on little to 0 hard pack on the start.I could not get a bite for the first 50 plus yards. Just thought I would let you know.So bring your sled out tomorrow and we can try again.And I"am safe to say we will be way more even than we were today. Rich 

For better acceleration, change your helix to a Hot Seat HSP36X, or a full progressive 52/34.
